This project will see the transformation of one of Bristol’s most famous public spaces into an extraordinary ‘tent city’. For a period of 10 days from Saturday September 18th – Sunday September 26th, over fifty tents, printed with artwork by the people of Bristol will stand in College Green as united testament to the diversity of the population of the city. Seen around the world, the ‘tent city’ symbolises sanctuary and security – often from conflict or crisis. This tent city will acknowledge the many people around the world who have been forced into refugee status and act as a metaphor and statement of Bristol’s rich cultural diversity. When the project is complete, artwork from fifty different communities, districts, schools and marginalized, disadvantage or excluded groups will be presented as one, in a huge public installation. Description:  One25 Limited is a registered charity (No.1062391) with a Christian ethos providing services to women who are at risk or have a history of involvement in street-based sex work. Naomi House is a One25 initiative which provides a therapeutic safe house for mothers (with babies or children up to 3 years old) where alcohol, drug misuse and sex work has been a problem. The project provides a high level of supported accommodation and as part of the therapeutic package of care, the women receive ongoing support in a variety of ways. We are looking for a female full-time manager who will be responsible for the effective management of the home. She will manage the staff team and oversee the day to day running of the house. She will work closely with One25’s director and senior managers and with commissioning bodies and other relevant agencies. Section 7 (2)e of the Sex Discrimination Act 1975 applies. Enhanced CRB disclosure and compliance with the requirements of the Independent Safeguarding Authority will be required. This post is part funded by the Parenting Fund.
